TEDIT/TEW
TEDIT is
a powerful on-line text editor for use in the CA-IDMS & CA-ADS
environment. With TEDIT, textual
data and entities stored in the integrated data dictionary (IDD)
can be edited.
TEDIT can operate as a stand-alone
program, or it can be integrated into any CA-ADS application that
requires text editing capabilities. When functioning as part of
an application, data can be read from the application database,
passed to TEDIT and, after
editing by the end-user, written back to the database.
TEDIT with the ISPF-Plus
Option is compatible with the Interactive System Productivity
Facility/Program Development Facility (ISPF/PDF) Editor, available
in the MVS/TSO and VM/CMS environment.
TEDIT/Workbench
is an ISPF-like, menu-driven environment for CA-IDMS/ADS programmers
- both developers and DBAs. It allows powerful, yet easy to use
access (for viewing, updating, creating and compiling) to dictionary
entities through menus and lists, thus facilitating a standardized
complete environment for DBAs and ADS application programmers.
Without TEDIT/Workbench
you would access the different entities in various ways, using
a variety of tools and environments.
TEDIT/Workbench standardizes all
access through menus and lists, making it easier to develop and
maintain applications. The lists may consist of all entities of
a certain type, the most recently used (MRU) entities, entities
meeting user-specified criteria (through the SEARCH option) or
those referencing a specific entity (through the CROSS REFERENCE
option). This allows you to easily access entities of your choice
without having to remember their full identification. It simplifies
the process and improves productivity.
