EZ-DB2 Support

APARs are listed below for all currently supported version of EZ-DB2. Download the required APARs and follow the instructions in the EZ-DB User Guide to apply the APAR.

Currently supported version: Version 9.10 (compatible with DB2 V8, V9 and DB2 10)

Details for upgrading previous releases of EZ-DB2 to the current release, are provided further down this page.

For problems or queries that are not fixed by the current APARs, you should initially contact your local distributor that supplied the software to you. They will liase directly with the development team to resolve your issue.

In an emergency or if you cannot reach your local distributor, please contact us directly.

Version 9.10 APARs

When you first install EZDB2, the most recent APAR will have been preapplied. Option 5.2 on the EZDB2I installation panels, will display the latest APAR number that has been applied.

You only need to apply the latest APAR to bring your EZ-DB2 V9.1 system to the latest maintenance level. Only APARs involving DDL/database changes and one-off updates will be listed as prerequisites.

As from APAR 89, the naming convention for pre/coreq APARs, relating to database DDL changes or one-off APARs has changed. For further details of the changes please see this page. For details on applying the different types of APAR, please see this document.

Instructions for updating EZ-DB2 V9.10 to the latest level:
1. Apply the latest Software Update:

2. If you have installed the Warehouse DB, apply the Warehouse Database updates:

3. If you have installed any Trend databases, then apply the Trend Database updates:

10. Trace Filters for PLAN, AUTHID and PROGRAM now allow Wildcard * to specify any character as well as % to define a prefix.
11. EZ-Tracer clears the current trace buffer at the end of each interval to ensure SQL appear in the interval in which they were executed in a quiet DB2 System.
12. A Trace that captures zero SQL will now run to completion to produce a nil return.
13. A new option has been added to CACHE Traces. Include Current Stats at Start = Y/N/O.
14. A new consolidation control for Table qualifiers has been added to always fully qualify Table names before consolidating.

Version 8.10 is no longer supported. You should apply APAR CX810039 - carefully read the instructions regarding the application of this APAR - to bring your 8.10 system, up to the base 8.20 level, then apply the latest APAR, to bring your system up to date.
